FS Colin Goldie Overton Low D (non tunable)

I’ve recently gotten another low D from Colin Goldie, this time a tunable, colorful model, and will be selling my trusty low D. This is also Colin Goldie, made a few years ago, with a beautiful, strong tone. A very versatile, responsive player that has given me much pleasure. Let me know if you are interested or would like more info. I am looking for $200. (Current price from Colin translates to $250, plus wait.)

Can we work out a trade?

Susan

What did you have in mind?

Well, I know you’ve always had your eye on my…well…er…um…you know…cough

Susan

Do you guys want us to leave?

I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on your whistle too but I don’t think I’ve got anything you’d want!? Hard cash is out for now I reckon…

Hmmm. Any flutes or interesting whistles lying around? Single Malts? As for hard cash, I am perfectly happy accepting soft currency: US dollars. Given the weakness of the dollar, this should be a good deal to do in Euros!

Er…how about a bottle of this, wot I got yesterday:

:boggle:

BS.

So then, B-man, when you refer to “wetting your whistle”, nothing less than 80 proof will do?

GB pounds are not soft anymore, they have completely melted. At least any that were in ‘Icesave’ have! It’s a funny old time for finance - but if you are in the trade for fountain pens or straight razors I could sort you out with something special.

How about a nice Pelikan or Danitrio Densho? Perhaps a quality Boker or Wade & Butcher? Just don’t touch that Welsh whisky that was offered - you know it’s got to be wrong :boggle:

cheers and I am sure this will be gone very soon
Stephen

I’d be interested in your tasting notes on this one. I’ve never even heard of this distillery. (And I’ve been enjoying single malts for a while!)

I’ve a bottle of peppered vodka here…

You lucky bugger. Penderyn is vitually unobtainable here. Not to mention bloody expensive. Beats that Scottish poison hands down :stuck_out_tongue: !
I’d give you my left…Well I’ll think about which left body part I’d give, depending on how much you would want to trade for said parts…for a bottle or ten of the good Welsh Whiskey.
Necter of the gods!

Mick

P.S. Makar, the Welsh were making whiskey way back when, along with the Scots. It got knocked on the head by the Puritan movement, I think, in the 16 or 1700’s (I think). So even though the Penderyn distillary is only ‘new’, Welsh and Whiskey go hand in hand along with Irish and Whiskey and Scotch and Whisky. Jack Danials Bourbon Whisky as the example…Mr Danials was a Welshman.
I have a fountain pen and a very nice ‘cut throat’ razor, by the way. I enjoy them both regularly.

Ah Mick - you can’t believe all you read. They say Japanese whisky is good too - but it’s not just the taste that does it  TBH I think the stuff fairly rank mostly and enjoy the delights of Belgian ale. Each to their own as with all things.

Can’t beat a shave that takes 40 minutes and the use of the correct nib and ink for the writing required.

Now wasn’t somebody trying to sell something on this thread?..

In my local Belgian Bar, I usually drink Kwak, Lucifer, Bush Ambre (12%), Gordon’s Finest, Delirium Tremens and Piratt. They lower a basket down from the ceiling and you have to put your shoe in as a deposit on the Kwak (mini yard-of-ale) glass.

Many’s the night I’ve staggered back home with somebody elses shoe on. (a Nike on one foot and a ladies’ leopard-skin boot on the other!)

However, I’d prefer a double Laphroaig Quarter Cask anyday!

:stuck_out_tongue:

BS.

PS. Penderyn do a peated malt as well.

IMHO,

Nose: Citrus & Autumnal fruits. Grandma’s Apple crumble coming out of the oven, dusted in brown sugar and nutmeg.

Palate: Welsh fudge dipped in melted chocolate, spread over a buttered ‘Bara Brith’, slowly gives way to a spring rainfall over the Breacon Beacons.

Finish: Peppered strawberries with Rowan tree bark and vanilla overtones. A Druidic Oak grove at summer solstice.

Comments: A lot going on. Complex and not fully understood for the first half bottle…

BS.

Now I am thirsty. Someone buy this whistle so I can afford me some Penderyn. It is a beautiful whistle, and since you are too late to invest in gold at a reasonable price, you should consider investing in durable whistles.

Who ever said Japanese Whiskey is good needs to see a shrink :open_mouth: . As for taking 40 minutes to shave…Well someone needs a little more practice, or perhaps to strop the razor a little more frequently. As for my fountain pen…What can I say…You can use them for many things and it is sure to add a touch of class, but you can’t sign the back of a credit card with one! :stuck_out_tongue:
I stand by Penderyn, as all good Welshmen should.

sold. thanks for looking.

I second the praise for the Quarter Cask. I had a tasting party this past spring in which twelve people each brought a bottle. The hands-down winner was the LQC.
