FS: Cochran delrin D with tuning slide and decorated rings

Cochran delrin D with large holes, metal tuning slide and ornate, textured rings, and long D foot with 2 vent holes.

An early hybrid by Jon C. I purchased on eBay a few years ago. In 2009 Jon reworked it out to modern Cochran R&R flute standards and detailed it. He gave it cork tenons (rather than thread), and roughed up the surface for appearance and grip, as the surface was previously polished and slippery.

$430 plus shipping. Funds will be used towards other needy flutes and to neuter 2 of my park cats.

Sorry Kevin, but I think those rings are just repulsive. Bet the flute sounds great though!

Rings-shmings-who cares?!! The main thing is the flute-which by all accounts should be a very nice one. And by the way, they do look much better in person than in pictures.

If you are savvy enough to know a very good deal when you see one (full tuning slide there) from a respected maker, you won’t be blinded or deterred by the above comment. They are silver after all, and if you don’t like the pattern, you can always polish them down flat if you wish. Or sell them for scrap (at the price of silver now) and have Jon replace them with plain ones! You might even make a profit too!

It’s not as if they stop the flute from rolling, either. I prefer plain rings, which is what I have on my Jon C. blackwood flute.

Flute Bling… :lol I am savvy enough to recognize the deal Barry!

I like the figured silver rings on the flute. However, the first thing that I would do with the flute, sorry Kevin, is to get it back to its original polished surface.

I have one of Jon’s Delrin flutes of more recent vintage. I specifically ordered the textured rings, 'cause I really like the look. In the words expressed by the esteemed philosopher and musician, Sylvester Stone, “Different strokes for different folks, and so on and so on and scooby dooby doo-bee.”

Best wishes.

Steve

Sure, I can use them again!
This is such a good deal, maybe I should buy it!

Maybe we can do a trade.

cause it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that bling! do wop, do wop, do wop do wop, do wop, do wop… “you talking to me?”

Still available.

No kidding!
