I listed some of these before, no real takers. I need to sell off some of my collection due to financial hardships and college. I hate to part with any of my instruments, but sometimes, one has to look at the bigger picture. So here’s what I’m letting go now, there may be more…
- Cello
-Made in Germany, 1938, by R. Schmidt.
-Restored in 2005
-Many scratches on the varnish, but purely cosmetic. It has been well played, and well loved over the years.
-Solid ebony fittings (pegs, tailpiece, fingerboard(!))
-Will come with a fibreglass bow. I can furnish a soft case if required, or provide you places to get one for a good price.
-Asking $3,000 or best offer. Was appraised to be worth around $4,500 in 2005 after restoration.

- Violin
-Made between 1890-1910; not certain of maker
-Restored in 2006
-Rosewood pegs, tailpiece, chinrest
-Slightly shorter fingerboard and softer neck angle. Kind of a baroque transitional pattern. It has a very sweet sound, not overbearing.
-Will come with case and fibreglass bow; a pernambuco bow can be provided for an extra fee.
-Asking $750, or best offer.

Violin
-This is a Chinese made 1/2 size violin. I recieved this from a friend whos younger brother decided to quit. I set it up and adgusted it properly, and it plays quite well. Comes with a 1/2 size foam case and 1/2 size violin bow. This would be great for a youngster; a smaller violin that has been properly set up to play and will provide a good starter instrument.
-Pictures upon request; make an offer. -
Tenor Banjo
-Made in the 20’s or 30’s, Kay 19 fret tenor banjo with synthetic head.
-I have used this instrument extensivly over the years I’ve been performing, and have made many modifications including:
*I have added a “knee” style mute arm that works as such, or can be secured with a catch to be used playing standing. (Not visable in pictures, can take better ones to show the system)
*I made a double spring loaded pick holder out of an old trumpet lyre; has 2 seperated prongs to hold two picks independantly.
*I made a custom tailpiece that incorperated a bottle opener. Works very slick, quite handy in sessions
*I made a nice shapped walnut arm rest
*Other general cosmetic modifications: blonde peghead veneer, abalone dots inlayed in the neck, celtic images on the underside of the head, etc.
-Plays well, looks a treat. I’ve made a lot of memories with this instrument; its been nick named the ‘blackthorn’ in local sessions, and has become a part of my ‘image’ when performing. However, I also have a drop dead amazing 1920’s Washburn tenor I have begun to use a little more, and I can’t justify keeping both of these.
-Comes with a hard case, strap with straplocks installed, and if I have them, an extra set of strings.
-If interested, make me an offer.

Thank you,
