FS: C Burns Large Hole--price redcd//TRADE for Boehm flute?

This is an excellent flute–big fat loud sound, excellent intonation, a fully wooden Pratten-style flute. This is a great deal for a Pratten-style flute and I’ve tried many Prattens and other flutes in this price range including: delrin Seery’s large and small hole, delrin Jon C, delrin Copley, and many others. It’s a flute that can be heard in sessions. It’s great too because of Casey’s ergonomics: there is practically no stretch; tone holes are evenly spaced and close together. I was getting tendenitis before I got this flute. Once I started playing it, no more tendinitis.

If I love this flute so much, why am I selling it? Because my hands are just too small to handle this flute and play it consistently on a day-in, day-out basis. I have smaller hands, and though I can play well with this flute, I just can’t get the crispness of ornamentation and consistency I want and practice for.

I played two paid gigs with this flute as well as in many sessions with many folks being very impressed by the tone and presence of this flute. I’m sticking with a Burns flute but am playing the standard model instead.

If you want to hear a clip of this flute, go to the link in my signature at box.net and download/listen to the track, “The Sunset” reel. For pictures, go to:

The flute is without a scratch, but has some wear on the headjoint where the lip touches. It is a two piece, headjoint and body. Though it’s slideless, I find it quite tunable.

It’s $500 plus shipping. I can take PayPal +3.5% or USPS money order.

Thanks for looking.

I’ll vouch for this one. I’ve been playing the same model for a couple of years now. Casey’s flutes are top notch. The large-hole standard is very manageable for someone with average hands. And this is a good price for a well-tended, broken in flute. Recommended!!

Open to making a trade for the Burns Large Hole. A wood flute (no delrin or whistles) such as a Burns Rudall or a Bleazy.

PM if interested.

Thanks,

Jason

what are the center hole measurements----this is a low D

Yes, this is a D concert flute, a session flute if you will. I’m unsure what you mean by “center hole measurements”. I can tell you the finger stretch is very comfortable; in fact it feels the same as the standard I now play. Very easy on the hands and ergonomic–Casey Burns’ hallmark as a simple system flute maker.

I am open to trading the Burns for a Boehm flute as well. PM if interested.
