FS: Blackwood Copley F

Here’s another gem that I need to let go. More details below.

This one is in excellent condition and plays fantastically. All sterling silver rings and tuning slide, and c-nat thumb hole. Comes with a black hardshell, foam lined, gun case.

I have a keyed F, plus I have other projects to fund so this must go to a happier home. Dave Copley’s current price is $750 with some wait time. My price is $725 shipped. Payment to be made by Paypal, no upcharge. I will ship from Canada. I can also ship from the USA between March 16-22. I can also ship from Germany between April 9-17.

Jim, I have to ask, is that intended to be helpful? :boggle:

Have to say I was wondering the same thing!

helpful? Don’t philosophers prefer enigma?

You’re thinking of cryptographers.

Well, I sent it to Dave C when I first recorded it and he liked it. Complimented me on my playing, in fact.
On the other hand, I owed him money at the time…

I remember Dave letting me play one of his first F flutes at a session. I almost didn’t give it back to him. Sure wish I could afford one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps some are wondering what it would be like to play an F and I would say it requires a slightly more focused embouchure compared to a regular D. When the notes are hit just right, they sing loud and clear. Because of its size and economy of air, I find it to be a very nimble instrument. Cheers!

Right. The Copley F flute is, IMO, one of the great flutes now made, pound for pound the best, arguably–
the Sugar Ray Robinson of flutes. Superb player in a magical key.
