I have for sale Alan Ginsberg D Keyless flute Pratten copy made from Rosewood which I got in March 2004.
The flute comes with a wooden case.
As I play the uilleann pipes more I don’t play the flute at all any more as I get pains in my hand.
The Price for the keyless flute including wooden case was £420 pounds sterling from Alan Ginsberg.
I knew the guy was talented, but Alan Ginsberg is still around and making wooden flutes too? I guess it kind of goes with the beatnik thing…

I think the poet is ‘Allen G’
Here is one of my posts from one of our earlier
discussions.
Allen Ginsburg once kicked me in
the stomach. We were about to
take a Bodhisatva Vow at a buddhist
center–vowing to be reborn until
all sentient beings are enlightened.
I was ranting that I didn’t want to come
back upteem million times as a frog
so I could save Richard Nixon, etc.
etc. Ginsburg, who was sitting next to me,
raised his stockinged foot, very gently kicked
me in the stomach, and said:
‘What are you making a Federal Case
out of it for? It’s just a Bodhisatva Vow.’
Also he fell in love with me for five minutes
about 9 years later, not remembering
his assault. But he didn’t get to
first base.
But isn’t this a forum for discussions
about flutes and whistles? Really!
Assessments of Mr Ginsberg’s skill as a flutemaker are best kept to private posts. Nobody is likely to give an honest opinion on the forum for fear of the Law.

It would seem not.
I’m sure Mr Ginsberg makes a nice flute, but check out the end cap on that Flute, you could get alot of wise cracks at the session!

Shadow or no, that’s nothing: I’m gonna turn a shot glass right on the end cap of the flutes I make, I like to be PREPARED for a session!

It would be helpful, I think, to note that this flute has been up for slae several times since this was first posted (in 2004)… That’s a long time.
It has been up for slae for a while, however no one has come forward to make any comments or observations about the flute or its maker, just comments about the attempts to sell.
I am unfamiliar with the flute and its maker although it looks from the photos to be a well made flute. Anyone know anything about the maker? Is Ginsberg a pipe maker? Anyone played a Ginsberg?
