FS: 2 Chieftains

Unfortunately, I must replace my bicycle so that I can have transportation to and from work immediately. While working at the Veterans Hospital $200 worth of parts were stolen from my bicycle. At this point it’s not worth fixing and the best I can do is replace my bike with a new one. I only make $2.25/hour and limited to 30 hours work per weeks, so my income is very limited. I hate to sell one of my last remaining sources of relaxation and creative outlet.

Here is what I have to offer:

1 KWL Songbird (High) D tunable -Serial # 070307

  • This whistle was my first step into a high end whistle. It has a great airy sound to it. If I am playing on a cold day outdoors it does require some warming. I haven’t had the usual problems of condensation build up with this that other players have noticed in full aluminum whistles.

1 KWL Chieftain (High) Eb (not Tunable) -no Serial # for this model

  • This whistle was the first step I made outside the traditional D scale. I do see the occasional condensation issue, and warming is a must even in cool areas. As far as I’m aware Phil Hardy (Owner of KWL) no longer produces a High Eb so this may be a nice opportunity to own one.

I must replace my transportation immediately. The sooner I can raise the needed funds the sooner I can save myself from paying for expensive (on my income) bus fare.

I will be posting Thank You responses to EVERYONE who helps out with a purchase, or donation (unless for any reason they request otherwise). I feel blessed that members and visitors of this forum have helped in my time of need.

I’m saving some more of my thoughts on this matter for the thank you response. I want you to know it has really touched my heart and restored some faith in my international community.

As soon as donations have been received, I will no longer need to sell these instruments. I will be posting Thank Yous very soon. I cannot express how grateful I am that I didn’t have to sell either whistle. Stay tuned, I should be posting shortly.

Phil Hardy, owner of KWL has graciously offered to donate funds from the purchase of a Kerry Whistle Pro in the keys of F or G so that I can restore my transportation and be able to keep the whistles that I had originally posted for sale. In the interest of hasting a sale so that I can get back on the road quickly, he has even lowered the price of one, in the key of G by £15 (GPB) or about $25 (USD).

While Yes alternate fingering with a G instrument gives the player freedom to play tunes in C, G, and D Major (and their relative minors). Considering players can play G, D (and A) Major scales with any D whistles using the same fingering alterations, I actually recommend the F key. With the F key instrument you can play B♭, F, and C Major Scales. Of course this is based on a persons wish to play with others.

If your playing alone, then G is IMHO the more common scale. If you like a slight bit more bass than converting a song from one scale to another is almost too easy.

Phil Hardy (Owner of KWL)- Thank You, for giving me the profit from the sale of the KerryPro :astonished: . I’m sure the buyer will be just as happy with the whistle as I am with mine. :thumbsup: I was stunned to learn you had even found out about my situation and completely floored that you cared enough to ask your customers to purchase one for my benefit. I would also like your potential customers know that you often help young/new musicians reach for the stars on a regular bases. How you ever get the time to accomplish all of this and take care of the business is amazing. I know customers are waiting for the new Optima to began production and I hope they sell very well. Best of luck.

JTC111-Jim, Judith M., and the one who wished to remain autonomous. You could have easily accepted my offer and received one of my whistles. Instead you cared about my happiness and well being without asking anything in return. Thank You.

My friends who offered support and understanding while I am without transportation, Thank You. You know I would have been worse than these guys → :swear: :tantrum: :sniffle: :imp: without you. OK, I’ll admit. I was pretty down about it all, and it came at a time when I had already been stressed out. It seems sneezes aren’t the only troubles that come threes. Somebody just put mine in the exponent :puppyeyes: . :poke: -ing myself.

My final thanks is extended to the helpful employees at Wal-Mart who helped me find a suitable product for far less (1/2 to 1/10th the price) than their competitors.

All of you have embodied my motto (and signature line):

You reminded me that my international community is a strong friendship. We care less about a persons wealth, race, religion. We appreciate each others knowledge, experience, personality, and genuinely care for their well being. As my friend Ai would say Arigato gozaimasu. “Thank You for That” (I would have used the past tense but the program thought it was a curse word :boggle: ).

I planned on providing pictures of the replacement bicycle in this response… Unfortunately, There has been a slight hold up by Wal-Mart that should be cleared up by the end of the weekend, hopefully today. They will still be provided as soon as possible. I have a long powerful legs and it wasn’t easy finding a bike that was both large enough to accommodate but also sturdy enough to handle the rigors of daily use year round.

These donations just barely (by design with the final donation) paid for this bike. I am working on getting some stickers for the bike. One for the Chiff board community, another for KWL, and I am still looking for something appropriate for my Facebook friends. If and when I am able to do another charity ride (most are in the fall here) or if anybody ask how I got the bike I want to make sure you have been accredited for your support. :thumbsup:

If there is ever anything I can do to return these favors, never hesitate to ask. I will of course also pass on your generosity however I can, to whomever I can. I have heard it said that it takes a village to raise a child, I would like to expand that saying to adults. For while a person CAN provide for there needs; it is with the support of their community that they are able to be more productive. There needs no other proof than to watch an Amish community get together to build a house, barn, or help each other with harvest to know this is true, and you have certainly shown this in me as well.

I finally got a couple pictures.

Genesis: Two-Nine (named for the 29inch wheels).

Good thing the computer, and lights were in my pocket. I only had to replace the rear light because the mount was still on the seat post. The lock is long enough to secure both tires and the frame. No more quick releases either.

It might be safer to wait until you arrive at your destination. I do see a guy here who rides no-handed all over town. And there was the guy who was smoking and using his cellphone while he was riding. I wondered what would happen if he forgot which hand was which. :slight_smile:
