Looking forward to seeing you May 14th at Houston Texas.

Any chance you could put Hawaii on your tour for next year? It’s not a bad place to visit. Lunasa made it through the Islands last month–they seemed to have a good time of it and were well received. I think Cherish the Ladies would be even more so.

Please?

Why, I was talking to Keith Lockhart just the other day and he said he wanted CTL back for more rousing fun with the Utah Symphony… Well, okay, I didn’t talk to him, but I’ll bet that’s what he’d say if I asked him! Come back to Utah soon.

Susan

Hi, Joanie!

I’ll try to catch one of these two shows. I’ll PM you later to let you know which one. Take care!

Siochain, dochas, agus gra,
Jim

Hi,

Any chance you’ll be adding San Antonio to your list?

and don’t forget phoenix!

And Grrrrand Junction!

Mac!<

Hmmmm. This is a possibility.

Do Chiff & Fipplers get backstage passes to meet the ladies?

The bad news: No.
The good news: You don’t need 'em!

Hey! Great!

I was only joking about the backstage thing, but I’ll see if I can scrape up the cash to go.

I’m with ya, Mack.
Looking at the tour dates, the western US seems woefully underrepresented. The closest concerts to me are in Duluth MN, or New Mexico (and those aren’t close).
I think we need to work on this.
Utah wouldn’t be so bad but I’d like a pure CTL concert rather than something with an orchestra. But beggars can’t be choosers…

Joanie, that’s some tough timing… sleep much?

Here’s what gonzo did today –

Baker University is a small private school in a tiny little town that is very small even by Kansas standards. The number given above is the switchboard for the university. But . . . the operator was either at lunch or in the can or maybe taking out the trash or whatever, because I got a message that said I should leave a number so the operator could call me back.

When I finally got the operator and told her what I wanted, she transferred me to the fine arts department, but they weren’t the ones that sell tickets. The lady in the fine arts department said I had to contact Professor Buehler, but that I would have to leave a message because it was Professor Buehler’s day off.

So then I asked if there was someplace I could buy tickets if I drove to Baldwin City. She referred me to the grocery store – “It’s easy to find – it’s right by the traffic light.” Note that she said the grocery store and _the_traffic light. Baldwin City has only one of each.

I don’t know yet whether I’ll be able to go or not, but if I do, I’ll just drop by the old City Mart. It’s unlikely they’ll sell out – the last time I went to a Celtic music performance at Rice Hall, there were only about 30 people there. In a 900 seat auditorium. I hope I can swing it, because I haven’t seen any live CTL except for the time I ran into Ms. Madden on a Hertz bus three years ago in Kansas City.

And what about Spain?

If you came to South Carolina, I’d be the only one to go… but I’d be REALLY happy, and I might even make a sign that says, “I <3 YOU JOANIE!!!”

What do you think about that?

I think I have decided on this show. Still have to get tickets, though.

Do you know if any other Chiffers (e.g. Jayhawk) plan to show up? If so, maybe if we show up early enough, we can have a tailgate session (good weather) or a session in the Student Union (bad weather).

Don’t know of others who are coming. Did you get the PM with better phone numbers for tickets? If not, let me know, and I’ll resend.

I don’t know yet if I’ll be at this one as there are still schedule issues, and it may be a last minute thing. However, these Baker events don’t tend to sell out. But if I’m there, I’ll be the overweight, middle-aged, pony-tailed white guy in a blue serge skippers cap with identical 12-year-olds in tow.

Definitely get there early even if you have tickets because it’s open seating.

I got the new phone numbers. Thanks!

OK, I’m also overweight and middle-aged (and four-eyed), but it’s been a long time since I’ve had enough hair for a pony-tail, and I’ll probably be wearing a green baseball cap that says “Ireland” on it.

Caught the show at the Troy Music Hall last night. Thanks for the lovely evening.
