I very often hear in this forum people talking about Lehart, who seems to be the French reference flutemaker; I would be glad you French-flute owners, let me know your choice.
I play a Fred Rose flute, and a Hervieux&Glet, whose design is very specific; as soon as I understand how to do, I will post a pix in “Porn flute”

I have a 5 key in D that I purchased from M. LeHart in March of this year. I was very fortunate to visit his home and play a variety of his flutes, and he is a real gentleman, an excellent craftsman and a talented player.
I play it regularly and am extremely pleased with it. Even in a session with 4 guitars, box, mandolin, 2 pianos and 3 fiddles I can be heard clearly. In a smaller group that I play with of guitar, harp and whistle/clarinet/r***der, I can go down in volume to just a whisper. It is in tune throughout the range and this really surprized another flute player who plays a Bohem style flute.
I also managed to obtain an Eb from Hervieux & Glet, and although it is very nice, it’s not nearly the instrument that the LeHart is.
I certainly am very happy with my LeHart and would not like to part with it.

”Flute porn” is the tread where fellow musicians post alot of pics of their favourite sticks.
The “porn flute” is a completely different issue, involves lubrication, almond oil and human tissue.

I too am a pleased and proud owner of a Lehart flute in D. Mine is keyless and the sound is what ever you want it to be. The workmanship is first rate and as far as a music tool goes I doubt there is any better. I am a long way from utilizing the full potential of this instrument but I plan on spending many years with it and maybe growing into it.
