I have an Indian-made bamboo/cane whistle. It’s the only instrument I own, yet I never play it. I guess I’m just not a musician anymore.
Anyway, if anybody in the lower 48 states who needs and/or wants it for free, PM me. I will drop it in the mail tonight and it will go out tomorrow morning.
7200 posts on a whistle discussion board and this was your only whistle?
My God! We may have isolated a cure for woah!
I hope you get another soon. Being a musician really doesn’t have as much to do with accomplishment as it does the journey. But you really should have an instrument with which to make that happen.
No, I used to have lots of whistles. I even had a Hohner but a C&F member, I’m very sad to say, stole it from me.
I just have a million other things going on (illness, college, spiritual issues, tendon problems in my hands) and don’t have the will or desire to play anymore. I also used to have a glockenspiel, clarinet, flute, etc.
I’m not completely abandoning music, though. God willing (i.e. if I don’t have to have throat surgery for my thyroid problem) I’m going to take singing lessons next semester.
My wife had a partial thyroid lobectomy in early September. Removed her right side 'cept for the para thyroid glands. She feels way better and only has a pencil-line thin scar that rests right with the natural creases in her neck. Don’t freak out about it. Pretty routine stuff apparently.
