What’s all this “rain?” I spent all afternoon on the coast path between Bull point and Morte Point in North Devon and I’ve come home having to smear after-sun all over my face and balding head. I propose that all test matches should henceforth be held in the Westcountry (defined as any point including and to the west of Swindon).

He was out caught. He got a big underside edge onto the boot. So long as it gets caught before ball touched ground that’s out.
I once saw someone hit a fierce shot straight at gully. It hit him on the boot and rebounded all the way to square leg where it was caught. Result: batsman out caught, gully replaced with a fractured foot.
The match seems just about evenly poised right now. Should be interesting today.

Looks like a full day’s play today. Any predictions on how many runs the Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff’s partnership will produce. MMMmmm should be at least 150 ish (I hope). I think Shaun Tait’s bowling will be the danger! Oh Well Here we go !!
The partnership produced a measly 28 - Pietersen gone already. Boo Hoo ! I’ll get my coat !!

All that talk of Melton Mowbray pork pies on TMS has made me feel hungry.
344-5 at lunch, with Flintoff and Jones steadily building a partnership to repair the damage of losing Pietersen early on. Slowly moving back in England’s favour, I think.
Anyway - I reckon it’s about time I did some work today.
The word “poised” seems apt right now.

Australia aren’t the team they are when McGrath is in the lineup.
Right on both counts there, I think. 444-6 (right now) is the sort of score where you could lose a couple of wickets and still not be too worried. Australia’s bowling seems distinctly average without McGrath to anchor it. England shouldn’t lose from here. Whether or not we can win, however, remains to be seen. I hope Freddy and the boys can get more out of the wicket than Tait et al.
My colleague has just pointed out that we’re on 444 off 111 overs. Eek! Feet in the air now, everyone!
