Sometimes a topic will show up on my monitor extra wide - so that I need to scroll sideways slightly to read it all, very irritating. What causes that?
What’s this phpBB that this is powered by? Does it have some connection with the Butthole Surfers’ PHPPCP EP?
If you are referring to the Butthole Surfers of Cornholia, I’m sure I don’t know. Usually this effect is caused by someone putting in an oversized image or URL that can’t be wrapped. What can’t be wrapped around to the next line gets written all in one line, and redefines the window’s width.
If you have a case that doesn’t fit these examples, please point it out and we’ll see if someone here can’t help you determine the cause.

And, to add to that…if you submit a response, knowing full well that a
huge picture has widened the window, it’s a GREAT idea to hit the return
at the end of each line, to shorten the line (like I did here). Preview it
first.
