Fortuity - CD Review

A new group has emerged in the Cincinnati area called ‘Fortuity’. I had a chance to meet the couple this summer and obtained a CD from them. I thought it would be fitting to review here.

The CD has Violin, Harp, Mandolin, Fiddle, Viola, and Percussion.
It’s a mixture of Irish, Scottish and Jewish folk music.

Some of the music list is as follows:
Kolokeyka, Tashi’s Joy, Cooley’s, Battle of Aughrim, Yikhes,
Fingal’s Cave, Baym Rebn Hora and Bulgar, Omnia Vincit Amor and others.

It’s a very nice variety of songs, there’s an Internet site in the works but it’s not quite ready yet.

It’s well done, good choice of instruments for each song and the background beat with the harp or the percussion is well thought out. Excellent fiddle playing.

Anyone who likes Jewish music and Celtic music will like this.
You can enquire on their CD at 859-581-0734

OK that was the ad but where’s the promised review?
