It is a nice one. If it’s legit, it’s supposedly 162 years old… hmmm… so I’d bank that the battery is drained. 
Yes, it looks like the battery was just for size comparison.
$99 … my door would certainly be proud to wear such a thing, but the moths in my wallet would be too embarrassed to even wiggle their likkle wings.
The end looks too big to be a whistle. Maybe a crumhorn.
