No reed currently… $350.

Or it can be upgraded to a practice set with leather gusset bellows and L&M leather bag, blackwood stocks and blowpipe. Practice set version $850. Can ship within the week.

Why has no one jumped on this? This is a great deal as the UPB make fine stuff and I think their waiting list is six months or something now. If you’re looking to get into the pipes, going with UPB or a Pat Sky budget set is really a great way to go.

Clarification needed: If you chose the upgrade to a practice set does the chanter still need a reed?

Yah, sorry TK. Reed still needed. Frankly I despise making reeds and the boys at UPB can more easily churn one out for their standard chanters and you’d probably get a better reed by ordering one from the designers.

I mention the upgrades because PatSky doesn’t recommend upgrading his budget set. Is it because the bag etc. is vinyl? That’s my assumption, but Patrick can correct me if I’m wrong. Anyways, I would include ebony stocks and blowpipe tied into a quality l&M stitched bag with a nice leather and walnut bellows. Nothing fancy on the bellows, just my standard workhorse.

So the standard UPB chanter. and you don’t have a reed for it. hmmm
do you have any pictures you can send me, I would really like to see what it looks like all together also, and how old is the chanter ?
