Whistle is in excellent condition. I’m selling because I just don’t play it very much (like never), and I am buying a house which means I need money! Here’s an opportunity to add to your collection a whistle that is no longer in production.
$75 (US) plus shipping charges. I accept paypal or money order.
There are always lots of low D’s out there for sale. Most are for much more money than $75. Someone is going to get a fine whistle at a low price. My first low D was a Ralph Cook. It was jet black PVC and played very well. As I moved on, and needed tunable whistles, I sold it. My memories of it are very positive…
It’s black PVC with a wood fipple. This pic I lifted off of the low whistle page at C & F shows the mouthpiece. Dale’s review (hope it’s OK I link this) is here: http://www.chiffandfipple.com/cooklow.html
I found this clip in the Tin Whistle Tunes archives and it sounds good! If I didn’t already have a Burke composite (quite a bit more money) I would buy this one, as it sounds similar, at a very tempting price for a Low D! If you’re looking for a more personal Low D, and don’t need one for sessions, I would seriously consider this one! Here’s the link:
