For Sale: Paddy Ward delrin flute in D

I have a Paddy Ward delrin flute in D that I bought off of a board-member about a year ago for something like $500 (feel free to search through old messages to find out the exact price). I bought it because I work in Northern Uganda and the weather is inclement to wooden flutes, to say the least, Anyways, I don’t like the flute very much. This may have something to do with what I’m used to - an Olwell and a Grinter. I feel like the Ward just doesn’t have enough “resistance” in how it plays, that the sound is too hollow (sort of how I’d sound on the Olwell if I loosened my lips a lot). Others, however, especially David Migoya, have been very enthusiastic about Paddy’s flutes. With that glowing recommendation, I want to sell this flute. I’m asking for $250, half what I paid for it. It includes a hard case. I’ll accept payment by check, money order or whatever else you’d like to send me (sheep, sea-monkeys, etc) and will be able to send the flute out from the USA (home for Christmas in NH) on the week of December 20th. Send me a PM if you want it.

Best,
Chris

A correction, Chris. On WFO3, David uses a keyed Eb Olwell.

Kevin Krell

Woops. Corrected. Thanks Kevin.

I’ve sent a pm.

Ack…I would have bought this if you’d posted earlier. I’ve been hankering to get into the flute world, and have been looking for good “deals” over the last few months.

Unfortuately, I spent my Christmas money on a blackwood thin weasel last week. Well, maybe not “unfortuantely”, since I’m sure I won’t regret the purchase…but you know what I mean

Lesl is the lucky winner. I’ve sent an e-mail to him to confirm.

Wanderer, I would highly recommend an Olwell bamboo flute as a fantastic way to start out on the flute. I’ve enjoyed owning Eb, D and C, and all are fanastic. Eb is by far the easiest, however, and might be a good one to start with.

Best,
Chris

Grump, grump. My PM went out at 2:16 am, just after my WFO3 correction, but you still haven’t read it (according to C&F). Forum problem related to PMs again? I thought I beat Lesl by 3 hours local time. Never mind, enjoy.

Kevin Krell

Doh! Kevin is, in fact, correct. Well, I’m not really sure what to do about this. Somehow I didn’t receive e-mail notifications of any of the PMs, but received a private email from Lesl so I figured he was first. Hmmm… what to do? I’m sorry Kevin, but since Lesl and I have have already entered into a written agreement via e-mail I think I am bound to honor it. My sincere apologies for the mix-up.

Best,
Chris

Chris, since you never confirmed to me, I agree you should continue with your contract. It’s not as if I don’t have any flutes - I got 3.

All the best.

Kevin Krell

Thanks Kevin.

So it is done. The flute goes to Lesl (unless he back out, in which case it goes to Kevin, unless he backs out, in which case it goes to…)

Cheers,
Chris

Hi guys,

first - Chris, I’m a girl. That must count for something. Here is a pic of me

thanks Kevin. Tell you what, if I dont’ like it I’ll sell it over to you for Chris’ price.
