Slan,
D.
Did you see that wine cellar???
I wonder how many bottles there were…
I really thought the picture taken in the Baghdad market was especially striking. The way the light was filtering through…beautiful! Thanks for the link, Dub!
One of the authors I’d most love to emulate.
Are you sure Em? Before my daughter could read, I used to read the BFG to her every night for a long time - one of our early favorites. But I seem to recall reading somewhere that this great writer of children’s books did not like children particularly. If true, you couldn’t possibly emulate him. ![]()

Dahl’s photographs, including this one of the writer in his school uniform, were reprinted by his grandson Luke Kelly. Dahl was known to his grandchildren as ‘Mouldy’.
Blimey! Not so off topic as all that! not THE Luke Kelly?
perhaps I meant his style!
I love his writing style!! I’ve been getting into Children’s literature lately, but he’s been my favorite author since childhood. I notice a lot of authors nowadays have the same sort of style…the Lemony Snicket author has a reminicence of Roald Dahl, I think.
And Speaking of which…
Just saw the movie today (“Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events”) with my college-age son and my 13 year-old son ~ we all THOROUGHLY enjoyed it!
“Sunny” is priceless, BTW!
