Hope this works … wanted to see if anyone has seen one of these before.
Airway is on the opposite side of the holes and there is a hole just above the bell on the same side.
After cleaning out a lot of the gunk discovered that there was a wooden plug under the airway. Had not soaked yet .. good thing.
Airway is a rectangle piece of metal solder on to the tube and positioned so that it hits the middle of the blade.

Hey - great instrument. I’m not convinced the bell end does anything! I think the hole down near the base is the tuning hole - it tunes the base note (since its hard to tune a bell ended instrument.
Where did it come from? Who made it?
Where do I buy it!???

I’ve got one in the original tube and booklet that came with it. They were an instrument that kids in small towns could mail-order as a “band” instrument. Ever seen the music man? imagine a town without a budget and a bunch of kids playing these.

It looked to me like the “bell” is actually closed. In that case, the hole at the end has to be a tuning hole. Haven’t we also seen those wierd ‘ears’ alongside the window somewhere else?
Looks little like a Cooperman with a trumpet mute permanently attached to the end.
Suppress the bell and it’s exactly the same flageolet that Blackbeer bought from eBay, and which I own a variation of.
Same round wooden plug, soldered separate duct for windway, same tuning assembly, and organ-pipe “ears”…
