Flute tutor?

Hi all,

I’m buying a Hamilton practise flute for my girlfriend for her birthday, and I think she will need a book to go with it.

Seeing as how there is no “Newbie read this” sticky like in the UP forum (I’m a piper), I thought I would ask all of you what a good book is for a beginner (she’s new to irish music, but not to music itself as she is a classical piano player).

If she’s new to Irish music, I’d start her on a tutorial for tinwhistle, such as this good one by Bill Ochs:

She can learn the tunes on whistle and move them over to flute (same fingering), or just learn them on the flute right away. Many, many players have started out with that book.
