A chance set of circumstances lead me to another flute strangling, recorded in Oxford in 1984. So, sorry, disbelievers, I can’t be making this stuff up. (Although I had been there 10 years earlier, and could have done the job when Anthony Baines wasn’t looking …)
No, David, I’m not back. I make an exception here to clarify my position.
As I mentioned on leaving, I see no point whatsoever in being a member of a discussion group that actively censures discussion of serious flute issues. However, I do feel a responsibility to pass on to flute enthusiasts everywhere (including here) important information as it comes to hand. It is not satisfying to drop such information into your midst and not be there to discuss points arising, especially when misinterpretations arise, but the forum owner has ruled on that, several times now. So, until and unless the forum owner reverses that position, or bans me entirely, you can expect me to drop in and alert you to new and interesting findings on this or other flute topics. But not hang around to not discuss them!
Not being mean here, honest, just wanting to check on meaning. You meant “actively censors discussion”, yes? Otherwise, I don’t remember any censure. Just explanation …
First of all, that is a falsehood and you know it. The original thread was going to be unlocked. You blew it.
Secondly, the moderators have been bending over backward until we’re kissing our own asses, because we tend to have a soft spot particularly for makers. Witness the metadiscussions on this topic that we HAVEN’T locked or deleted. And you’re taking a romping advantage of that, I must say.
