Flute identification needed

Hi all,

there is a set of tutorials on youtube link below

At 3 mins 33 seconds, you get a good luck at the flute, it appears to be a modern creation, head joint, tuning barrel and one piece body section with all the keys attached, and no foot joint, does anyone know who makes this flute, I like the idea of the one piece body with keys, I thought it might be Dominic Allen, as the keys are very similar to the keys he hand makes,

thanks Sponge

It looks like a Maurice Reviol flute to me.

It’s not one of mine.

I’d bet my life it was one of Martin Doyle’s with someone elses keywork. Everything about the flute screams Martin Doyle to me, the construction, the rings (this distinguishes it from a Reviol as the flutes on his site all have flat rings Martin’s flutes have thick rounded ones like on the flute in the video,) the holes also look about Martin Doyle size. The key work looks like Reviol but it could be the flute was made by Martin and the keywork by Reviol, I believe Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh’s flute is a Doyle with Reviol keywork. That is what I heard anyway don’t know it it is true. Like I said though everything about the flute in the video looks like a Doyle except the keywork.

The keywork does indeed look EXACTLY like Maurice Reviol’s ( http://www.reviol.co.nz/ ), and he offers a 1-piece body with all the keys on it down to Eb.

I know that Reviol is able to put keys to other maker´s flutes, so I think that this solves the mistery, probably is a Doyle flute (as some of you have pointed) with Reviol keywork.

If you check out the comments on irishmusicacademy’s channel you can see someone already asked. And it was answered:

"It’s a Martin Doyle rose wood. "

Mystery solved:)
