Hi all - I’ve just posted a YouTube video with the dual purposes of :
-Comparing/reviewing my Windward D, Carbony Eb, and Lark in the Morning D (i.e., generic Pakistani) flutes - bearing in mind that I’ve only been playing about a year (I’m aware of the previous…discussions that have taken place when reviewers don’t make this sort of thing clear ).
-Soliciting advice from more experienced players on my playing. I’m aware (particularly in light of having watched myself play in these video) that my playing is generally a little imprecise, and of course I’ll keep working on it in general, but is there anything in specific that I REALLY need to get sorted out sooner than later?

I couldn’t sign in so I am going to make a comment here…
I find that when beginning players try to demonstrate instruments it is always with the best of intentions, and the most lacking of results. Though I think you are doing well playing, it is the tonal representation that is compromised. it is unfair to the instruments, regardless of quality, to not have the full potential of the tone and tuning of the instrument represented. Just my 2 cents worth! I am, of course, being blunt…

Arbo - I see your point, but before I got my hands on the Windward, I wondered what an upgrade from my cheapie Lark in the Morning model would get me (tonally, ergonomically, etc.), and that’s not a question readily answered on YouTube - in other words, I think I put something of value out there, if only to those around my skill.
I tried to emphasize my qualifications here, in the video, and in the video comments, and also linked to videos of good players showing what the Windward and Carbony flutes could really do, in hopes of doing them better justice than my playing could. I very much hope that no-one reads too little into these flutes’ actual potential based on my vid, and I’ll consider your point if the urge strikes me to do something like this again (which it hasn’t yet, but just in case…).
