I managed to get some pictures done of the way I am learning to play the flute. I’m personally not that photogenic but the pictures show how the flute is supported to stop too much pressure on my wrist, shoulder and neck. We haven’t quite cracked the left shoulder position as I stilll get some pain and also I have to be very careful how I sit or my back hurts for hours. Some might say is it really worth the pain and hassle and I would say yes. I love music and if there is a way to play an instrument then I’ll have a go.
The thumbnails are too good but the bigger pictures seem okay, except I needed to do my hair first! here’s the link. http://www.backgroundsarchive.com/sample.php?categoryID=3&id=23
selkie,
this link doesn’t seem to be the correct one.

Same problem here-just getting the background.I’d love to see your pictures,as you say yourself,“Where there’s a will,there’s a way!” ![]()

Wow. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Good job, Selkie!
Excellent!! -They say that necessity is the mother of invention! ![]()
Hope you enjoy your fluting!
This may sound like a daft question (so what’s new?)-but, Is that a SANTA CLAUS in that last picture? Has he come early?
Not Santa but a Pooh Bear sack that my house ferret loves playing in!

So if I have the right idea, your hands aren’t supporting
the flute. Let me suggest this–you might experiment
positioning your right hand differently.
One option is to move the thumb to the
side of the flute near your face, so that it’s pushing away
from your face, it’s not under the flute–but there needn’t be
any pressure. Also I don’t know how much
range you have in your arm, but you
might try to lift or lower your right
elbow. Well done, in any case. Best
I am actually supporting the flute but not having to take the whole weight of it. The clamp stops the flute from rolling away from me as my grip isn’t brilliant. Iam getting a new flute and I don’t think I would risk just letting it sit on my shoulder in the clamp as the shoulder pad moves. I’m hoping a charity ca;;ed Re-map can make a better support for the left shoulder. Still I can play over 2 octaves and several tunes now so very happy.
Absolutely wonderful. You made my day.
Selkie: Good going! I like your adaptations ~ Have fun!
