There’s a C set here:

or a Bb here:

seems a good place to start ![]()
If I’m not mistaken, the C set has been sold (I was second in line and the first guy/gal took it, bugger it all
)
I guess I better just make one.

All right, too bad !
I think that would be nice if the seller could post it when it’s sold, especially as I was waiting for a reply for some time as well. ![]()
That Angus Bb looks very nice. Very good price too.
There’s this one on ebay also:
I’ve seen Mortens set and it’s a very nice looking set. There were some reed issues in the beginning when the set was sent to Denmark from Seattle. This has since been sorted out and pipemaker Chris Bailey has said it´s a good set. Well worth checking out if you’re after a flat set

not a full set but seems to be lovely. You can ask someone to add regs to this set.
Doesn’t Davey Stephenson make regs? There’s a photo of a tenor reg on his website.
He is not taking new orders now. ![]()
Thank you lads for all the suggestions, it seems I have found a pretty good set, I’ll let you know when I get it. Thanks again.
Just to let you know I am now the happy owner of a Wooff Bb set which is sounding great, even after coming straight from Australia to France. I put the reeds in, and everything worked straight away. Just great ! I’ll go on playing now…
A Wooff, no less. Congratulations Oliver.
Ask and ye shall receive eh? Bloody amazing! Fair play te yee!
PD.
What’s the vintage/serialnumber? (usually on the mainstock somewhere between regs and drones
The set was made in 1982 and has #37 on it if I remember rightly. It was originally owned by Pam Anderson in Queensland (not that Pam Anderson). Geoff had the set in 2001 for a service.
Is it your set Giles that you had up for sale earlier in the year?
Patrick.
I was soo close to snapping up that set. All I had to do was encourage a good friend of mine to negotiate a good price and it was purchased. Unfortunatly somone else offered a good price first. At least Giles_b will know that its in good hands.
Cheers L42B ![]()
No 37 is a very early one, I think I actually played it when Geoff had it for ‘service’.
While it should be perfectly serviceable (it was made two years before Ronnie Wathen’s and three before John MacMahon’s) Geoff’s chantermaking has evolved vastly over time and the Bflats were thoroughly re-designed since. If you’re lucky the chanter was replaced.
A few years ago a man from Oz contacted Geoff about a concert pitch set, no 2 or there about, a wide bore one. Was it time to sell it with prices on the up and all. Geoff told him to put it back in the attic for another 20 years so the price could really max out

That’s number 37 indeed.
