Jim McGuire has placed notice on the Uilleann Pipe Forum that a copy of the Topic label LP, “Flags Of Dublin” is up for grabs. I’m pretty sure it has never been released on CD. He’s recommending it for Mick O’Brien’s piping. I’d recommend it for Mick Gavin’s flute-playing. The 3rd musician is fiddler Paddy Glackin. I posted this recording on the “Session” website, if anyone wants to check the track listings and comments. Strangely, all the tracks are solos, there is no accompaniment, but there is great playing from all 3 musicians on it. This is the only recording I know of by Mick Gavin, apart from a guest appearance on a couple of tracks on the John & James Kelly “Outlet” label recording. Not a recording you come across every day. [ It’s not me who’s selling it, and I don’t know who is. ]

“Flags of Dublin” is available on cassette - Ossian: OSS 31 from NPU, Dublin for instance, price 7 euros. Then just burn it to make a CD version.
