Firth, Pond, etc.

I noticed a mention on Terry McGee’s site (in the “Postscript” section), that Paul Wells of Middle Tennessee State University/Center for Popular Music was collecting material for an article for publication on the New York flute makers of the mid-1800s, Firth, Hall, and Pond (and the various incarnations thereof).

Does anyone know whether such an article was ever produced? And, if so, where it was published? (I’ve sent a note to both Terry and Paul Wells without a response as yet.)

Are there any other published sources of info about these companies and their flute products?

Thanks and best wishes.
