… hmmm… better be careful… according to the listing description, it’s a recorder and it doesn’t have a mouthpiece… looking at the pics, Denny is right, it is upside down, and there’s a heckuva hole in the wood near where the mouthpiece should go…

Yes it looks like a repaired crack through the embouchure hole. Nice looking Cocuswood!
This is probably where all my flutes will end up, being auctioned off at Goodwill!
I guess you could have a fipple made, to restore it back to a recorder… 
kinda sad that somebody tried to turn a perfectly good recorder into one of those flute-lookin’-kinda things…

This is very similar, if not identical, to the William Hall flute I bought from Pat last year. The only difference I see is the cap on the end joint is a different shape. This could be a really lovely flute along the lines of what Grey Larsen recommends: small-holed but loud enough for sessions. I play mine with the John Gallagher head joint Pat had made for it, but the original is also quite nice.
