Hello C&F flute people! My first post, it’s nice to be here. I have a four keyed Blackwood flute by Eamonn Cotter. Notice I say “have”, not “play”. I’ve had it for a year and am still learning.

And welcome - but I’m brand new in this forum too.
I play Irish Whistle well enough for people to say I play very good, and for me to know I do not. I just started practicing Flute.
I hoot on a Shultz Flute in Rosewood which I have had for 2+ weeks so it’s still breaking in. The flute is getting more beautiful each day - wish I could say the same for my playing. I’m all thumbs with a mixed conventional/piper hold, but it’s getting more comfortable. And the voice is lovely when I get it right. 
I purchased a Tipple three-piece, tunable six-hole low D flute “fully loaded” (Speckled Bore + Lip Plate + Tipple-Fajardo Wedge) to occupy myself with in the meantime. I wanted something I could pick up and blow on any time without assembly, joint grease, swabbing, & etc. I can learn faster that way. It plays fairly easily, the embouchure is more forgiving than the Schultz, and by my ear it sounds really nice! I got in some decent practice on it this weekend.
Nobody told me that fingers could get sore muscles. I need a hot tub for my left hand.
