Sorry for the OT, but same-sex marriages attracted so much attention here a few months ago, i thought this might spurt a new round of flamewars! 
I saw a cartoon in the New Yorker yesterday: A woman, packed suitcases in hand has a last word with you distressed-looking husband. She says something like: Of course there is nothing wrong with our marriage, it’s just that the specter of same-sex marriage has so weakened marriage in general.
