I have heard reference to people practicing fingering? Is this a good practice technique? How does one go about utilizing this practice method?
Find the note progressions that are really tough to play…then play 'em over and over and over. . .
Chord up. . .chord down. . .(arrpegio?) lots of things that twiddle the ring finger . .triplets, B to D (no little C# allowed in there).

Yup-- start very slowly, at a speed where you can play the progression accurately, and very gradually increase the speed. This is not at all musical: you are training the muscles that operate your fingers. You can even diddle this way mindlessly without a whistle, using a pencil as a substitute. The point is to make these progressions part of the hard wiring of your brain.
