I know I have been somewhat silent recently, and it’s not because I don’t enjoy being here! We’re on the last lap of the race to get in our new home tomorrow. In the last two months that we have remodeled the kitchen (including tearing out everything down to the studs and redoing plumbing and electric), and remodeling 3/4 of the guest bathroom, refinishing the hardwood floors, dealing with patching and leveling floors in the kitchen and dining area to lay cork planks, and the laundry/mud room for tiles, painting, and general cleaning, including clearing out overgrown areas of the yard (1/4 acre) . . . and trying to work to pay for all of this . . . it’s been a long two months. I have my office in the new house and the kitchen is basically done, except for a few minor details and it is really exciting to know we’ll be able to sleep and relax here very soon!
I have learned more than I thought I would during this process—like how to properly install a toilet that was improperly attached to the plywood subfloor—and I have come to realize that my standard of perfection cannot be met in a house ![]()
I just wanted to share this with you guys and gals and let you know I’ll have some pics up probably early next week, after we have a chance to get some good shots.
