For those who follow this wonderful series of books, you’ll doubtless be as thrilled as I was to know the title of the 7th and final Harry Potter book has been announced:
which, among other things, describes how the U.S. Transportation Security Administration tried to stop her from taking a working transcript of the 7th novel onto an airplane due to “security restrictions.” (Yeah, they finally found the Weapons of Mass Destruction! )
On a serious note, in a way this is a sad announcement. Book 7 will be the last of the Harry Potter books.
I went to Border’s yesterday to look for a book for the wife and they had reservation slips for the new book. The girl at the front claimed it was to be released in July, which seems a bit soon considering Rowling hasn’t finished writing it.
I hate to say it, but I was a bit dissapointed by the Half-Blood Prince, I hope the new is one is as good as the earlier ones and she can resolve all of the plot lines!
In a world of endless sequels and prequels, I am glad somebody wants to make a body of work with a beginning and an end. I really enjoy her books, but enough is enough with the storyline. We’ll see, after all, if she doesn’t come up with a new chosen pupil…
Had they not been made into movies, perhaps I would feel differently.. but seeing Harry grow up on screen had an effect.
I guess the path to sequel would be to kill off Harry as a new wizard is born…
No way! Ron and Harry turn out to be gay lovers and disappear into an enchanted forest to do strange things to each other with their wands and a jar of K-Y Jelly. Longbottom knocks up Ginny Weasley, but the kid is born a squib and Neville hangs himself in shame. Hermione burns her bra and goes on a life-long mission to make sure everybody knows she’s right. Who needs a mere phoenix when you’ve got all this fertile character development going on?
Oh, and by the way, the final horcrux has a limp and works on Lyle Street.
I can just see it. Harry is innocently bathing, feeling the tickle of the bubbles against the pale skin of his abdomen. He hears a noise as Ron sheepishly enters the room, unclothed.
