Thank you for this, khl. Father Damien’s story is very edifying, even from a non-religious standpoint. Congratulations to all of you on his canonization! 
Our parish is run by the Sacred Hearts, same order that Father Damien belonged to. We had a luau last Saturday/Sunday. Great time
The nuns used to tell us his story in grade school. I’m surprised this took so long.
