This might interest makers and restorers-
‘Scrapheap Orchestra’, where a well-known Conductor (experimentalist manque!) gets the BBC orchestra to play Tchaikovsky’s ‘1812 Overture’ on instruments made in 11 weeks by well-known makers, all from materials found in junkyards.
At the Proms.
It’s funny- and impressive.
I get the feeling that few of the players or makers work with period instruments…so they do extremely well…
