F.S. Shannon

I just received a Shannon polymer flute, and I (pretty much out of the box)
recorded a tune on it. I reserve the right to change my mind,
and gee, I’m impressed by this flute.

OK, I’ve got to sell the flute. My problem is that I have a funny left index, prone to tendinitis (hence the rubber finger
seperater tween my fingers in the video). The L1 hole on the Shannon is big, and, while I believe it will affect nobody on earth but me, after playing the flute for several hours I was getting into definite pain. There was no way to anticipate the problem.

Meanwhile the seller, at my request, kindly sent the flute directly to a maker who put in a C natural thumbhole for me, very well placed. Personally I think a C natural thumbhole is immensely useful, much like a C natural key but more agile
and at a fraction of the cost; but if you don’t want it, put a piece of tape over it and it’s gone. You can’t feel it or tell it’s there.

The flute
now includes a new corduroy flutebag, which is super-functional, entirely adequate, and fits it perfectly. The flute is
in new condition.

New, with no case, this flute goes for 275, plus 8 dollars shipping from Sweetheart. That’s 283. Adding a Sweetheart case
costs 39 dollars more. That’s 322. I’ll sell it for 240, shipping and flutebag included, which saves 43 dollars, minimum, unless you went for the Sweetheart case. You can
contact me by private messages. Thanks. Jim

Some nice playing, that.

I like mine…and I finally figured out how to record a video on my netbook:

The faux rings are my addition.

Hey gang it’s Christmas soon, and this flute will make a great gift–if only to one’s self.
It’s a good deal, too.
