Currently offered for adoption is a Rudall & Rose model D fltue made by Ormiston of blackwood and silver.
It is a very sweet player with a great upper register (but still a firm D). The “improved” embouchure gives it plenty of power, but what I like is it seems to make it easier to articulate. There is a repaired crack in the back of the head (good job, if I may say so), a chip out of the cap and one hasp missing from the case (made by Ormiston). I have replaced the cork on the top tennon since this picture was taken.
This is a very well made flute of great fit and finish. Currently Ormiston sells these new for £685 or about $1100 (U.S.) and the case is another £85 ($135).
