F.S. - Arabian flute, Shakuhachi & Pan-Pipe

Offered for adoption:

Erik the flutemaker Large Arabian flute (19") - Nice melodic sound, seems to be a minor scale (though I never checked it with the tuner). SOLD! ($74 from Erik)
Erik the flutemaker Japanese Shakuhachi (End-blown 21") - Nice tone, pentatonic, but the end-blown takes some getting used to. $40 ($89 plus $25 for “Dark & Carved” from Erik)
Angel Panpipe - Sounds good, each note is tunable, a quality instrument. But it is like playing a harmonica upside down, so I actually played it on the outside edge. $30

I will be happy to offer a volume discount or to consider flute trades!

Please submit inquiries via PM or Email.

I don’t know if I can afford to sell the other flutes.

The first sale cost me $500! :astonished:

If you are even slightly interested in either of the flutes, please let me know. I’ll make you a good deal!

I have a whistle with weird normal-alternating-with-tiny fingerholes like that “Arabian” one. I thought mine was African but I have got it wrong.

Where’s that design from and what kind of music are you meant to play on it?

Hey Jack,

I’m not a musicologist (nor even a real musician), but the OoOOoO hole arrangement typically signifies a Minor Scale. The Arabian flute’s hole arrangement is OoOoOo (with the bottom small hole for RH pinkie), basically sounds like a Minor Scale to me.

Here’s a link to Erik’s website: http://www.eriktheflutemaker.com/Exotic_Scales.htm

The Large Arabian flute sounds nice, but the exotic scale is where I have problems. I’m not talented enough to create my own music with it. But for people who have the “Gift” a minor scale is supposed to be much easier for improvisation.

Tunes in Minor keys are also supposed to be sorrowful or expressive of dark emotion.

Somebody please relieve me of the other two flutes!

Warning, rediculously low offers will most likely be accepted!
