I am willing…err…attempting… to part with a practice set in F by Froment. The bag and bellows are airtight and quite well constructed. The chanter is fine. Reed is by Seth Gallagher. I’m selling it as my daughter never got around to using it and is essentially nearly ready to try a D chanter but wants to wait a while longer to begin to learn to play. Ever played an F whistle? One of the little thingys? Well, this set is just as abrasive. It is excellent for teaching a child or child-like adult the basics of piping. It is not much for making beautiful music. It is, however, a rather effective instrument to piss off the wife and other family members if you wish. Simply play “chanter off the knee” while marching around thru the house, playing marches of course, and the desired effect can be achieved in no time flat. Really, though, Froment did a good job attempting to make a practice chanter for youngsters who cannot acomplish the hand position and stretch to play a D chanter. This instrument should be of some value to kids, collectors, and Froment fan club members alike. I overpaid $800 for the set and am willing to consider all offers over $500 plus shipping costs.
