Im trying to learn the 'Ace And Deuce Of Piping’on a keyless chanter, but there are one or two f natuals bin the second part. Can you half hole the F Natural?
Oh, For the bonus point, does anyone have the ABC for the second part of the Willie Clancy version of ‘Jeny’s Welcome To Charlie’?
try playing F# off the knee - or E off the knee. Depending on your reed/chanter set up, you should be able to get close and it sounds cool with the change in volume as well. I use it a TON myself. great note.
I use both playing the e off the knee and half holing the note. Each has its own tone, however, and like Pat D’Arcy said, “feel your way” around it and decide which tone sounds better to your ear in that tune.
