Ever seen anything like this (ebay item)?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7355947243

It looks as if it’s a wood fife that was completely lined and someone removed all the exterior wood. Very weird looking. I think it would feel weird to play as well.

Looking at the tone holes, i can’t see how that would play in tune with itself.

ya know, with about five rolls of electrical tape you could build the walls back up…

…maybe it would be better to get a dozen rolls.

Years ago, somebody sent me a Low D whistle, brass, that had tone holes something like this. Actually, it might have been our own Daniel Bingamon. Didn’t work for me.

Looks like Soviet technology.

Bumping - 'cause I’m considering bidding on this beastie.

So, I’ll ask again: Anyone ever seen a fife like this?
I’m trying to acquire an authentic (albeit possibly unusual) historic fife, and this one is so unusual, there must be a reason for it.

I though perhaps David M, with his extensive collections may have seen it unless it’s truly a piece O’crap.

BTW - the starting bid is $19.99, and she also has a “normal” Civil War fife (Ferrary-type) for sale as well.

Anyone??

Many thanks in advance…
