error in 110 Ireland's Best Vol 1

Has anyone noticed that on page 25, Haste to the Wedding has the notes for The Harvest Home? The correct song is played on the CD, it’s just the notes that are messed up. I just e-mailed MelBay. I’m sure they know, but just in case.

Does anyone else have the same thing or do I just have a weird printing?

I’ve got the same thing in mine. Fortunately I’ve got the dots for Haste to the Wedding elsewhere.

I actually know the tune. I just thought it was kinda strange. MelBay just e-mailed back and said they would let their editing department know.

My copy that I’ve had about a year has the right melody for Haste to the Wedding. Possibly I have a corrected printing.

That’s strange. I just got mine about 6 months ago. I got it from Amazon, so maybe it had been sitting around for awhile.

If we all played by ear we wouldn’t have this problem…??

I’m sorry! please forgive me it was a smart-ass remark…

Some of us read music AND play by ear. The two are not mutually exclusive you know.

If we all played by ear…

Is it not one of the benefits of writing down a tune that it helps pin down the name that might go with a particular tune so that we can all be on the same page - even if we are not reading the page - if you get my drift.

Yes,
even if that page is zero…

I’ve been practicing, but it’s hard to do. I have to hear a tune played very slowly. I just started recording the session I go to and hope that will help with the ones I don’t know.

I have a copy of 110 Best copyrighted 1999 and “Haste to the Wedding” is correct on page 25 of my copy. It might be a more recent error.
