Just wanted to share our happy occasion with you all.

Congratulations to John and Sarah. Cheers.
They look like a terrific couple. Congratulations!
Susan
Congrats! And the groom to be went to a GREAT school (Go Muskies!).
Congratulations!
They look like fine folks…I hope they have a long and happy life together!
–James
Congratulations.
Coolness. They do look great.
(Amar has been scarce…should we tell him? The pickins are getting slimmer.)
But she’s just a baby…Congratulations.
That’s wonderful news.
And heartfelt congratulations all around.
Now, I noticed the article mentioned something about the “bride-elect.”
I’ve been out of circulation for awhile, and I’ve forgotten how these things work. I’m assuming the election was carried out in an above-board manner, and the result was approved and certified by all observers.
In which case, Sarah Alice is not only an Undisputed Daughter, she is also the Undisputed Bride Elect.
The news article also mentions a wedding, which I found confusing. It’s always been my understanding that after an election, you have an inauguration. Could there have been a misprint? I await clarification.
Best wishes,
Jerry
Congratulations! That must be a great feeling, Dale. Just one note of caution, though. A school psychologist?! Doesn’t that trigger some alarms? ![]()
Jef
Good for everyone and more importantly as I saw in the small print, AMDG
Congratulations to them, and you! ![]()
Congratulations all around! ![]()
Loren
Congratulations to Sarah and John.
I’ve noticed this lately in engagement announcements in the Washington Post. It bugs the hell out of me. I, like you, would have thought that the bride and groom wouldn’t hold elections. However, if they really love each other AND they’re popularly elected by their and each others’ friends and families, I suppose that’s a plus.
What a lovely couple!
Redwolf
Yeah, that caught my eye, too.
I didn’t know your daughter went to Belmont Abbey, Dale.
That’s really close to my parents’ house. Thought, I must
note that it’s in Belmont, NC, and not in Charlotte. ![]()
Anyhoo, congratulations all around.
Best wishes for the happy couple and proud parents.

Congratulations to all! a most handsome couple.
(better cash in the stocks and forget about the savings, oh and order more checks Dale, you’ll need 'em…I’ve married off two daughters so I speak from experience- one was paid for by selling four bulls
, which were dubbed thereafter “The Bridal Bulls”)
Dale, when you mentioned earlier that you daughter, Sarah, had gotten a job as a social worker in Indianapolis, I wondered why she had chosen Indianapolis, as there must be social worker openings all over the country. Now I understand that she wanted to be close to John, a student at Indiana University (my Alma Mater), who she met when they worked together with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. Congratulations on your daughter’s engagement. May they have a long and happy life together.
Congratulations, Dale, and to the happy Hoosiers!
