Emboucher holes - different shapes & sizes

Does the size of the hole matter in cases like:

  1. How easy/hard it is to get a sound (am thinking about lip formations here)
  2. Volume?

Mine has like a really “round” shape and if I’m not wrong, Boehm flutes have a different shape altogether. It seems easier to play a classical than a wooden flute.

The larger size embouchure holes have the advantage that you can play both loudly and softly, whereas you can only play softly on a small embouchure hole. The oval embouchure holes on boehm flutes are easier to blow than the older elliptical holes. I think it’s because the straighter blown edge makes it easier to use.
