It’s been a long time since I posted my last question, but I’m now into the flute thing again and need to know the notation for a chieftains tune called the geese and bright love, played just after derek’s tune in live from dublin… and it is contained also in an ancient record of chieftains… maybe chieftains 8 or so…
I think there’s an arrangement of the chieftains, slower, followed by the tune itself… any input?
Most of the track “An Gheagus An Gra Geal” (which I have seen translated as “The Goose And Bright Love”) on Chieftains 5 is made up of the tune “Si-Bhean Locha Lein”. http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/8266 .
Is that it ? There are other tunes in the track.
I had the problem the other way round, found it in the book “Whistle and Sing” whilst hunting for 3/4 irish tunes, knew that I had heard it a lot but could not work out where.

This is the tune that follows the air. but after Si-Bhean Locha Lein, It seems to exist an arrangement of the tune, sounding like a reel version of the waltz… i think the arrangement was made by the chieftains, but at this moment Im unable to decipher that tune by ear… but this is a begining, thanks.
