Elliot Grasso & Jerry O'Sullivan on The Late Session

I’d love to hear this show, but I get an “XML syntax error” when I click on that link. Does that happen to you too?

-Dirk

No.
I got straight in but I don’t have time to listen to it now. Looks good though…

Slan,
D.

…coooooool…they’re in sync.

Joesph- its N-Synch :boggle:

 sorry

pretty small bodhran. Didn’t know Will could play trad.

I have no luck getting .smil files to play, either. But if you wait a few days, RTÉ will save the file in the Late Session archives (under programme listings) as a .ram file, and these I am able to play with any version of Real software.

Jaysus, Mary and holy St. Joseph - that Elliott Grasso can bring it, can’t he?

:astonished: :boggle: :boggle: :boggle: :boggle: :boggle: :boggle: :boggle:

I like how Aine pronounces it - “MARY-land”.

Alright! I downloaded the new version of Real player, and it works for me now.

Yeah, Elliot can really play! However, I think I could have used more cowbell…

By the way, doesn’t it look like my cowbell guy and the piper are playing a
nice waltz? I just imagine them playing a tasteful rendition of Si Bheag Si Mhor…

-Dirk

Hey Dirk!
Where have you been hiding?

Hi Brian!
I ocassionally get down to the Snug sessions - I was there earlier tonight.
But, you know what it’s like with little ones…
Do you think you and I might find a time for some tunes and reed-making soon?
Did ya get my email? I have a new email address:
dirk.mewes@comcast.net

Great piping. What would make it really stand out is some more imaginative backing rhthyms…not that the backing isn’t already great, but it’s time people started paying more attention to backing instruments as well rather than the straight-down-the-line 4/4 strumming. More cross-rhythms, syncopation, emulation of Rowsome-esque regulator playing (is the verb ‘regulation’?). Just a thought rather than a criticism..after all, the last thing I can do is play good rhythm

Cheers,

DavidG

Man!!! It feels like I’m in a padded cell for some reason!!! :smiling_imp:

…yup, that’s the feeling I get as well. But these two (Morten and Dirk) sure look like they’ve got their ‘groove’ on.

Guys, we need to lay down a sound-track for this session groove collage.
What do you think?

I have a lot of admiration for both Jerry’s and Elliot’s playing. I’m looking forward to the next recordings from them both! By the way, was Elliot’s track right off of his CD, or is it a new recording?

Yeah, her and everyone else that hasn’t been to the southern States

PD.
