elfsong whistle colors

hey everyone-
can anyone here tell me about the colors that the Elfsong whistle comes in? What I mean by that is I have been browsing the website a bit and looking at the different colors and I was wondering if anyone who actually has an elfsong can tell me if the colors are more vibrant, bold or sparkly then that on the website or if the website pics are pretty representative. I’m gonna get a C/D set and i have been debating which color scheme to get…

Although the website does not do the actual colors justice, it does present a fair pic.

I think they are much more exciting out in the sunlight where you can see the sparkles.

But I bet that if you have a particular color scheme you want, Sandy will try to give it to you.

I’m the one who did the pictures of Sandy’s whistles for her site, and although we’re quite pleased with the results, there’s only so much that can be done when reproducing colors and detail for the web. Web images are very low resolution and tend to lose detail/quality when resizing the original larger images to fit reasonably well onto a web page. Naturally, the images on the web site aren’t going to look exactly like the real thing, but at least people are able to get a better idea of the colors & designs available, which was Sandy’s ultimate goal in having the pictures done. Also, color reproduction will vary between PC and Mac, the monitor and video card you’re using, color adjustments & resolution, etc. So the images may look great on my color-corrected graphics monitor at 32 bit, but not-so-great on someone else’s monitor.

But back to the good stuff…the whistles. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of spending the past 2 weeks working with the “real thing”, and although the colors on the web site are fairly accurate, they don’t show the true beauty of the sparkle effect, the more subtle color changes and fades, or the depth of the marbling. Sandy is not only an excellent craftsperson, but also an artist and this can be easily seen when holding one of her whistles in your hand…or in my case, about 25 of them! Now I have to send them back :frowning:

No, the pictures don’t really do justice to the real thing. They’re definitely much more beautiful, vibrant and striking in person.

DRC,

The new pictures are wonderful…they were a real help to me in deciding on colors. I figured if they looked that good in webshots, they must be absolutely lovely “in person.”

I was admiring them on screen last night. Now you’re telling me they’re even better in the flesh. Whoooaaaa, here we go again.
