The Flute is now definitely for sale!
There are several new photographs on Flickr taken with a point and shoot camera so quality is not too good.
the flute is in excellent condition all keys work well, but the C# has a split second delay returning to open position. There are 4 expertly repaired hairline cracks: 2 on the head well away from the embouchure, and 2 on the barrel as shown in the photographs (beware of reflections from my tripod which look like cracks)
The flute is regularly swabbed after use and oiled every month.
Any more questions please ask.

Now on Ebay!!
Be helpful to have a link…
Best wishes.
Steve
I Don’t know how to do that! just look for Henry Fentum , there’s only one Fentum listed
Sure you do … There’s really nothing to know. Just paste the URL of your eBay listing page here. Easy.
Over in the UIE, links are mandatory. Over here, strongly advised. If you really want to sell something, making potential buyers go searching for it is probably not the best strategy. ![]()
I don’t know what a URL is! I’m afraid I’m not internet savvy as I rarely use a computer
Sorry
Don’t be sorry. There’s no time like the present to learn. ![]()
When you use your browser (Firefox or Chrome or whatever), there’s a long box (the address bar) at the top that contains the internet address of the web page you’re looking at . The address is the www.something.something/something … It may be prepended with http:// or https:// That’s the URL, the Uniform Resource Locator.
Copy that URL from the browser box, and paste it into your post here. You know how to copy and paste, right?
Say a prayer for the Prepender.
Thanks for everyone’s help!
The key which has the slight delay is the second pewter plug from the end and not the not the c#
as said before. I’m posting a sound clip on Flickr this afternoon.
I know that you’re just trying to be helpful. But posting the URL after I took the time and effort to guide fjohn through the process does not help him. Now we don’t know if he learned how to do it himself. And posting links is something every Chiffer should know.
Really, folks, if you’re going to reference an eBay offer here, please post the link.
So fjohn, did you figure it out?

Nearest offer to £1000 anyone?
Hi, could you give me the détails on the stamp: does it say “Fentum, 78 Strand” or something else?
If anyone is interested, you might remember I did a wole thread with loads of détails on Fentum addresses and the different Fentum makes. If this is Henry Fentum, with 78 Strand, then the flute dates from 1844 onwards. If it is still Henry Fentum, but Northumberland or something like, then it dates from before 1844. This looks like a gorgeous flute. Fentum made some gorgeous instruments. Shane
