Hi all,
I’ve just bought off the infamous bay an old Clarke whistle. There were two pics of poor quality (probably taken on a mobile phone instead of a proper camera) which I have enhanced in Photoshop purely to make certain points more clear. When I get the beastie I’ll take some better pics. I’ve scanned through all the pics in the Collections section, and not found anything like it.
I’d like any info I can get on this please, particularly approximate date. I’m not certain yet if it’s stamped C or D, have a look:

I can’t add much, but that certainly looks like a D stamp to me. Apart from the fact that it really does look like a D, unless the photo is reversed, the letter is the wrong way round on the whistle for it to be a C.

I haven’t received it yet, but will post more details as soon as I have.
Does any other member have one of these? I’m interested to know where it comes in the production history? Did you notice that the blade appears to be flat? That could be an illusion, and let’s face it there’s not much to see, but if that’s the case and it hasn’t been ‘modified’ then it becomes very interesting. Too many questions, I can’t wait for it to arrive!
