Early One Morning Tablature

Can anyone direct me to a copy of this? I have searched and found audio but not whistle tablature.

Thanks,
TP

You could teach yourself to make your own tab from standard notation in ten or fifteen minutes; almost certainly less time than it would take you to track existing tab down, or (more likely) to determine that it’s unavailable.

Hi TP, do a forum search on “tablature” and you’ll find several recent threads with good sources of whistle tab. Along with recommendations that you wean yourself off tab as soon as possible.

As for “Early One Morning”, go here:

Click on one of the 2 versions of the tune, then click the “Pennywhistle notation” link, which will display the tune as a GIF and give you several save/display options.

Thanks, guru.

Yah, I can see that the tablature might become a habit. At first I was looking at notes (never having read sheet music before) and listening to the songs and making some progress, but there was a song that I just wanted to pick up and play (Amazing Grace – I was going to a funeral and it made me feel better) so I tried tabs as a shortcut.

Cheers,
TP

Glad you found it. Well, glad that MTGuru found it for you.

I agree. DON’T get hooked on tab! It is not difficult to learn how to read music.

My name is Scott and I was hooked on Tab…

seriously, I said I wouldn’t take a liking to it, but the human brain seems designed to find shortcuts and lazy ways around real work. I was hooked on it before I realized it.

Not too long ago, I started covering up the tab with paper and just developing an eye for the notes. Now I take it one day and one song at a time. I’ve been tab free for about a month.
